seriously! They have announced today that they have bought the exclusive rights to the televising of the English FA Cup semi finals and final for New Zealand, and that is great news.

Many football fans picked up the Dominion Post a few days ago to be struck with excitement. The Wellington Phoenix are in talks with Everton Football Club about the possibility of arranging a friendly match here in New Zealand. This was incredible news.

Disappointment, Progress and Hope

Disappointment. If I had to sum up the match against
Melbourne Victory on Friday night in one word, that would be it. To have come
so close to the play offs, after battling all season and working really hard,
it was a bitter pill to swallow, seeing us go down fighting against the
Victory.

Drama at the Ring of Fire

There was a harsh wind whipping through the Ring of Fire.
A potent mixture of hope and anticipation caused a palpable clogging of the
air. The loyal masses marched into the stadium, adorned in their colours, ready
for battle. The sun was warm, reflecting happily off the seats but it's heat
was stolen, snatched away at the last minute, leaving a cold sense that there
was something missing, something not quite right. Shivers passed around the
ground, but whether through cold or anticipation no one could quite tell.
Distant thunder rolled through the sky as at last the tunnel was breached and
the teams stepped out onto the pitch, ready for battle.
